Russ was an active member at Saint Paul's @ The Farm, United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, where he served as minister of music. Initially he began his Music Ministry as Choir Director at Zion Lutheran Church, Turbottville, followed with many years at Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton.
He started his ministry as a Lay pastor for the United Methodist Church in Snowshoe. He was often called on to lead the youth ministry for Lay Witness Missions throughout PA. He served as the youth minister for Christ Community United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove.
Russ’s faith and ministry through music are what filled his life. His joy and passion for music were contagious and his faith was always evident whether he was directing a church choir, or a school play. He often shared his faith through music in many performances and solo events.
