Ruth Burd

Ruth E. (Greiner) Burd, 87, of 1509 Park Rd., Winfield, entered into rest at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born October 6, 1931, in Dewart, a daughter of the late Chet and Mary (Quiggle) Greiner. In 1988, she married Willlard E. Burd, who survives.

Ruth was a 1949 graduate of Watsontown high school.

She was employed at Selinsgrove State School as a nurse’s aide.

Ruth was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Winfield.

She enjoyed reading, camping, and traveling with Willard to Florida.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Tamara Fisher of Winfield; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Charlotte Greiner of Dewart; one sister, Dorothy Fisher of Williamsport; four grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Wood; one brother, Paul; and two sisters, Mary Louise and Edith.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, and 10:30 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Winfield, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Matthew Loyer, officiating.

Burial will be in Chestnut Hills Cemetery, Winfield.
