LEWISBURG – Samuel Albert Diehl, 86, of 105 Willowbrook Blvd., formerly of Millmont, entered into rest at 12:25 a.m., Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born June 30, 1929, in Hartleton, a son of the late Richard H. and Miriam I. (Swanger) Diehl. On August 15, 1948, in the Christ Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, he married the former Shirley M. Smith, who survives.
Sam was a 1948 graduate of Lewisburg High School.
He was a member of the Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Millmont.
Sam was employed at Diehl’s Chevrolet and Cadillac, Lewisburg, from 1952 until he retired in 2015.
He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Lodge #390, Mifflinburg, Union County Sportsmen’s Club, Weikert, Monument Camp, Hartley Township, and the Bucknell Golf Club, Lewisburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 67 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kris Diehl of Millmont; two daughters, Terry Diehl of Mifflinburg, and Joy Diehl of Lewisburg; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Diehl; one sister, Elizabeth Morrisette-Grenoble.
Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg.
