Scott Allen Flood of 330 Rothermel Lane, Mifflinburg, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, following a 4-year hard fought battle with metastatic melanoma. Scott was born on May 31, 1966 in Lewistown Hospital, and grew up in McClure, PA. He was the son of Harold and Arlene (Bickhart) Flood.
A 1984 graduate of West Snyder High School and SUN Area Vo-Tech, Scott began working at Wood-Mode Industries in June 1984, where he worked until May 2019 when the plant unexpectedly shut down. In September 2019, he continued his work with wood and began his career at Conestoga Wood Specialties as a saw operator in the Beaver Springs plant.
Scott and his wife Susan (Sue) were married on October 15, 2011. They shared an enjoyment of music, especially Foreigner, and traveled frequently to attend concerts together. He had a love for music, especially from the 80s. He spent many of hours sitting in the garage with his Christmas tree and lights next to him, listening to music. Scott also enjoyed traveling with his wife. Last September, they traveled to South Dakota and Wyoming. Scott loved this trip and wanted to return again next year. Scott also enjoyed making anything out of wood. When he attended SUN Votech, he built a hutch & dry sink for his mom. He was very proud of this. He made a lot of furniture and cabinets. He was very talented in his abilities working with wood. What Scott enjoyed most was spending time with his family. There was no name or title that made him prouder than “Paw Paw”.
Scott was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McClure.
Scott leaves behind his wife Susan (Rothermel) Flood; his father, Harold and brother, Corey Flood, both of McClure and Corey’s companion, Kathy Barber of Mifflinburg; son Michael (Hailey) Flood of Tioga; daughter Rebecca (Paul Moseley) of Millville; two step-sons, Matthew (Katlin) Getz of Penns Creek and Brady Getz of Mifflinburg; five grandchildren, Tobin Flood, Noah & Delilah Moseley and Isla & Roman Getz; uncles, Ronald Flood, John and Dave Bickhart; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, both paternal and maternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 9, at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 199 Newman Road, Lewisburg, with Rev. Harry Harter, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Geisinger Hospice, 74 School House Rd STE 104, Danville, PA 17821.
