Shirley E. Kerstetter, 88, of 175 Scottsdale Dr., Mifflinburg, formerly of Hartleton, entered into rest at 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Buffalo Valley Personal Care Center, Lewisburg.
She was born November 27, 1929, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Boyd and Alice (Gearhart) Mitchell. She married Luther E. Kerstetter, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Shirley was employed at IGA grocery store, Mifflinburg.
She was a devoted member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Millmont, where she managed the kitchen, Lenten Breakfasts, and the West End Fair food stand.
Shirley enjoyed traveling, vegetable gardening, cooking, going to restaurants with friends, visiting with her son and neighbors, and collecting Boyd’s Bears.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Lynn Kerstetter of Canadensis; and one sister and brother-in-law, Dawne and Mark Schreckengast of Millmont.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey VonNeida and Jean Hoffmaster.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, at Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Rd., Millmont, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11, with Rev. John Yost, officiating.
Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
