Shirley Anita Murray, 61, Mifflinburg
Shirley Anita Murray, 61, of 621 Chestnut St., for the past 15 years, formerly of Asheville, North Carolina, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, November 29, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born July 21, 1951, in Asheville, a daughter of Lucille (Young) Stanberry of Asheville, and the late Floyd Stanberry. On February 17, 1990, in Oxford, North Carolina, she married Jerry W. Murray, who survives.
Anita was a 1969 graduate of Enka High School, Asheville. She earned her Associates Degree in criminal justice from Asheville-Buncombe School of Technology.
She was employed most recently at Bloomsburg University in the Facilites Department. Earlier in life, she worked for the Veterans Assistance in Durham, North Carolina, and as a computer operator for the Air Force.
Anita honorably served in the Army for 6 years, where she specialized in finance.
Surviving in addition to her mother and husband, are one daughter, Kathryn L. Murray of Mifflinburg; one brother, David Stanberry of Asheville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jennifer and James Cannariato, and Susan Stanberry, all of Asheville.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m., with Pastor Ryan Knauss, officiating.
