Susan L. Catherman, 57, Middleburg

Susan Lea Catherman, 57, of 4660 Kissimmee Rd., since 1998, entered into rest at 2:30 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2013, at her home, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer since 2007.

She was born September 12, 1956, in Danville, a daughter of the late Richard M. and Joyce R. (VanHorn) Moyer.

Susan was a lifelong member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Troxelville, where she was a member of the church choir, served as acolyte, and was a Sunday school teacher.

She was a 1974 graduate of West Snyder High School.

Susan was employed at Laurelton Center as an aide for 25 years.

She enjoyed singing and playing volleyball at the Penns Creek Community Center. She was a 4-H leader, coached youth softball in McClure, and fostered out of town children. Susan was a Haven to Home Canine Rescue volunteer, was active at the Middlecreek Community Center, and a member of the Team Penning Association.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Jessica B. and Steven A. King of Carlisle; one son, Travis R. Catherman of Middleburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice M. and Timothy Royer of Winfield, and Christine P. and Steven E. Hackenberg of Millmont; one granddaughter, the love of Susan's life, Pria Rose King; 10 nieces and nephews, Marsha Moyer-Mitch, Stacey Liddington, Chad Moyer, Austin Royer, Breonna Royer, Shelby Hackenberg, Megan Hackenberg, Oakley Whitesel, Livia Hackenberg, and Nicholas Lloyd; and her loving companion, "Roscoe".

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael M. Moyer and David V. Moyer.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 8994 Route 235, Troxelville, with Rev. Matthew D. Schuster, STS, presiding.

Burial will be in the Troxelville Union Cemetery.
