Thomas M. Perrin, 72, of Hartleton, entered into rest at 10:55 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2023, at home surrounded by family.
He was born December 18, 1951, in Danville, a son of the late Thomas Lee Jr. and Ruth E. (Rearick) Perrin. On September 13, 2003, he married the former Gwendolyn Geyer, who survives.
Tom was a 1969 graduate of Milton Area High School.
He honorably served in the US National Guard and Army Reserves.
Earlier in life, Tom was Chief of Police at Point Township PD. He was employed at Laurelton and Selinsgrove Centers. He made a career for 32 years with the Commonwealth of PA in the DPW Child Support Enforcement as a Division Manager and retired in 2013.
After retirement, Tom went on to be a member and President of the Union County West End Ambulance Association for 11 years.
Through the years, Tom was very involved in his community, and was a President of multiple associations, including AFSCME District 86 and Seven Mountains EMS. He was most recently Mayor and council president of Hartleton Borough.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 20 years, are two sons, John Michael Perrin, Thomas Lee (Heather) Perrin; four step-children, Howard (Priscilla) Hansen, Kris Hansen, Tonia (Daryl) Andrus and William (Lori) Krape; eight grandchildren, Addison, Isaac, Evelyn, Abigail, Blaine, Sydney, Daryl, Kira; six great-grandchildren, Ella, Maverick, Wyatt, Byron, Thea, and James; four nephews, Steve, Doug, Greg, and Brad Perrin; and sister-in-law, Virginia “Ginny” Perrin.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Perrin; his nephew Terry (Perrin) Jows, who was like a brother; and one granddaughter, Hali Harpster.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, and 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, with Pastor Mark Messner, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 410 and VFW Post 1964, both of Mifflinburg.
