Venetta L. Wagner, 103, Mifflinburg

Venetta Laura Wagner, 103, a lifelong resident of the Mifflinburg area, most recently of 1040 W. Market St., entered into rest at 7:15 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2010, at her home.

She was born September 24, 1907, in West Buffalo Township, a daughter of the late William Calvin and Amanda (Diehl) Wirth. On September 22, 1924, she married Ward L. Wagner, who preceded her in death May 20, 1978.

Venetta was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Cowan.

Surviving are four sons, Horace E. Wagner and his companion Mary Alice Kahley of Leesburg, Florida, Donald C. Wagner and his companion Marlene Baker of Mifflinburg, Milan L. Wagner and his companion Leona Trent of Mifflinburg, and Leon A. Wagner of Mifflinburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lois E. Herbster of Middleburg, and Carol M. and Mick Lewis of Lewisburg; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 24 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph E. Wagner in 1990, and Roger E. Wagner in 1988; one daughter, Anna E. Kreisher in 2004; six sisters; and two brothers.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Cowan Trinity Lutheran Church, 2599 Church Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with Rev. James H. Gold, officiating.

Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cowan Trinity Lutheran Church, 2599 Church Rd., Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
