Virginia "Ginny" E. Shirk

Virginia “Ginny” Evelyn Shirk, 84, of Mifflinburg, formerly of Hartleton, went home to be with her Lord at 8:27 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023, at home.

She was born March 13, 1939, in New York. On March 11, 1962, in Mifflinburg, she married Jack C. Shirk, Sr., who preceded her in death March 10, 2015.

The number one thing in her life was Jesus, her Lord and Savior.

Ginny loved time with her grandchildren. They would play card games, she would cook for them, make them their favorite chocolate chip pancakes, pack picnic lunches and take them to the park and watch them swim in the back yard. She enjoyed taking them to pick berries with her by the old church and best of all just being able to act like a kid with them.

She enjoyed knitting, doing crafts and decorating her home, she also loved to putter around the yard.

Surviving is one son, Jack C. Shirk, Jr. of Hartleton; one daughter, Jill Gemberling of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Michael Shirk, Courtney Shirk, Kayla Girton, and Tyler Gemberling; two great-grandchildren, Micah Shirk and Lillian Wiser; and one daughter-in-law, Tina Shirk.

She was preceded in death by one son, Keith A. Shirk.

Family and friends are welcome to a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Rev. Richard VonNeida, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hartleton Cemetery.
