Zola P. Castora, 84, of 50 Hideaway Lane, Lewisburg, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, passed away at 10:10 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2024, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born April 10, 1939, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, a daughter of the late George Otto and Lillian Zola (Vandewater) Phillips. On October 4, 1958, in Hopewell, New Jersey, she married Joseph Castora, who preceded her in death.
She was employed at Mifflinburg Area School District as a teacher's aide.
Zola was a member of the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the Mifflinburg Garden Club, and enjoyed working with flowers, quilting, and gourd painting.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Sherri and Michael Benfer of Mifflinburg, and Barbara Castora of Northumberland; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Jane Castora of Conshohocken; five grandchildren, Chris Davis and his wife Amanda, Brett Benfer and his companion Peyton Minguez, Chelsea Hommel and her companion Jimmy Smith, Janelle Riegel and her husband Hoy, and Alex Stahl; six great grandchildren, Sydney and her companion Raul, Joseph, Samantha, Nathan, Raylan, and Dominik; one great-great grandson, RJ; and one sister, Lillian Cartwright of Hopewell.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Case.
Funeral services will be private.
