ROUPP FUNERAL HOME IS SEEKING A FUNERAL ATTENDANT AND TRANSPORT TECHNICIAN

Roupp Funeral Home, located in central Pennsylvania, is a family-owned full-service funeral home offering both burial and cremation services for over thirty years. As our funeral home continues to thrive, we are seeking a Funeral Attendant and Transport Technician who will support and preserve our standards of excellence. Knowing the importance of employee retention, we offer a flexible schedule with rotational on-call hours, increase in pay after 30-day probationary period, and annual incentives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform transfers of deceased from place of death to the funeral home with team members in accordance with all state, local, and company policies and procedures
Work on-call, in rotation with other team members
Assist with appropriate care for deceased as needed
Complete assigned duties for funeral services, including instructing vehicles in parking lot, parking vehicles, door attendant, book attendant, and other duties as assigned
Ensure any paperwork is completed in full, neatly and accurately

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Availability to be on-call overnight and assist in funerals (on rotation, as needed)
Maintain a professional appearance and wear appropriate attire per company policies
Interact courteously, professionally, and respectfully with the families of the deceased

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Good physical condition capable of lifting, pushing and pulling
Prolonged periods of standing may be required
Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, carrying, and lifting minimum of 50 pounds

JOB TYPE:

Independent Contractor (15-20 Hours Weekly plus On-Call Schedule)
Additional hours optionally available during regular business hours to assist with transportation duties as needed
On call can average of 2 weeknights per week and 2-3 weekend nights per month
Funeral schedule can include hours during weekdays, weekends and weeknights

Please consider the following questions:

Do you reside within 20 minutes from Roupp Funeral Home to have a prompt response time if a death were to occur?
This is not an 8:00 to 5:00 position. Can you be available overnight on scheduled days, or weekends?

"On-call" position means during certain times you agree to be available (and not under the influence of any kind) to do transports. Individuals may get one or five calls a day or may go several days without any. Your on-call schedule and availability are created based on requested days supplied by you for which Roupp Funeral Home will accommodate. On occasion due to demand, we may need to call someone that is not on call for that day/night. If that person is not available, they were not required to be, and are not held accountable for being unavailable when off call. We just extend the option for extra hours when help is needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate schedules and office calendar for meetings, funerals, and other events
Ensure office paperwork is up to date, organized, easily accessible to staff, and presentable for families
Complete phone calls to coordinate funeral orders in a timely manner, ensuring items will be ready for the service
Maintaining facilities, supplies, and keeping inventory records
Assisting with funeral set up
Attentive to answering phones, taking and delivering messages, and welcoming guests
Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Clean Driving Record
Professionally completing phone calls and orders
Computer skills to organize files, type documents, send emails, order supplies, research marketing
Physically able to assist with errands, and light to medium lifting, pushing, and pulling
